I took the following 16 black and white images of Alan. I then layered the images. In some cases, I added portions of the same image cropped and blown up- in other cases, I added sections from additional photographs. Finally, I included my handwritten questions and Alan's handwritten responses from our interview.
Alan took the following 6 colour photographs with a disposable camera (35mm film) that I provided for him. (Unfortunately, only 6 images came out from that camera. )
I then scanned the negatives into a digital format. I layered the images: I added portions of the same image cropped and blown up. Finally, I included my handwritten questions and his handwritten descriptions of his photographs.
I have met up with Alan again and given him another disposable camera in the hopes of eventually gaining a more even balance of his images and my images. I look forward to seeing what he will photograph next.
